How a new breed of Energy Service Companies are answering "cost vs value" questions.
In an environment of increasing pressure on budgets and dwindling funding, creative financing programs, designed to assist building owners in accomplishing facility upgrades, has gained popularity. The concept of "borrowing money to save money and using the savings to pay the project back – Performance Contracting” is not new. What has changed is what owners are trying to accomplish with these projects and their increased knowledge and understanding of these programs. Over the last 20 years, owners have utilized this approach to upgrade their facilities but now they too are demanding more for less. his session will provide a brief history of the industry and how it has evolved over time setting the stage for a new a new breed of energy service companies (ESCO’s). It will focus on how they are dramatically different in their corporate structure and how they can dramatically reduce project costs and enable owners to actually accomplish more with less.
